SPEC 01 · WHAT IT COVERS

The requirements, clause by clause.

01

Leadership and planning

Objectives, roles, risks and opportunities owned by top management, not delegated to a binder.

02

Process control

How work is planned, performed, checked and corrected across the certified scope.

03

Resources and competence

People, infrastructure, measuring equipment and the records that prove competence.

04

Customer and supplier control

Requirements capture, communication, outsourced processes and supplier evaluation.

05

Improvement

Nonconformity handling, corrective action and management review that actually closes loops.

SPEC 04 · TIMELINE

Certification timeline.

End-to-end timing depends mostly on your readiness and how fast findings close. QSI gives a dated plan at application review instead of promising a certificate by a date no audit has earned yet.

01

Application review

Scope, sites, shifts and man-days confirmed before anything is quoted.

02

Stage 1

Documentation and readiness review. Gaps are reported before Stage 2 is planned.

03

Stage 2

The certification audit, on your floor, against the running system.

04

Findings closure

Correction and corrective action evidence within agreed timescales.

05

Decision

Independent review of the file, then the certification decision and certificate.

06

Surveillance

Annual follow-up audits in years 2 and 3, then recertification before expiry.

SPEC 05 · WHAT IT PROVES

Local audit planning, practical evidence review and independent certification decision control.

  • A quality management system covering the certified scope was audited on site and found to conform to ISO 9001:2015.
  • Findings raised at the audit were closed with evidence before the decision was made.
  • The certification decision was made by a competent reviewer independent of the audit team.
  • The certificate is maintained through annual surveillance, not issued and forgotten.

SPEC 06 · MAN-DAY TRANSPARENCY

Man-days are calculated before quoting.

Audit duration depends on headcount, sites, shifts, outsourced processes, risk and scope. QSI confirms these inputs before quoting man-days.

SPEC 07 · FAQ

Frequently asked questions.

Common questions about scope, timing and the audit, answered directly.

FAQ 01

Is ISO 9001 only for factories?

No. It applies to any organisation that needs controlled processes and evidence-based improvement.

FAQ 02

How long does certification take?

Timing depends on readiness, scope and closure of findings. QSI will not promise a certificate before audit evidence exists.

FAQ 03

Do we need perfect documentation?

No. You need documents and records that reflect how work is actually controlled.

FAQ 04

Can QSI help after a failed audit?

QSI can explain findings and certification rules, but cannot provide consultancy for its own certification clients.
