The QSI group · Development roadmap

Programmes in development.

The QSI group is building new conformity assessment capability beyond certification and laboratory work. Three programmes are in development. Each is listed here with what the standard is and what it will add when operational. Status only: no programme below is accredited or operational today.

THE ROADMAP

Three standards, one discipline.

Each programme follows the same rule the rest of the group runs on: nothing is claimed before it is real. When a programme becomes operational, this page will say so plainly.

PRG-01IN DEVELOPMENT

ISO/IEC 17043

Proficiency testing providers

ISO/IEC 17043 is the international standard for proficiency testing providers: bodies that run interlaboratory comparison schemes, sending identical test items to participating laboratories and evaluating how closely each laboratory’s results agree with the assigned value.

When operational, this programme will let laboratories in the region benchmark their own performance through organised comparison rounds, giving them the participation evidence their accreditation and their customers ask for.

PRG-02IN DEVELOPMENT

ISO/IEC 17020

Inspection bodies

ISO/IEC 17020 is the international standard for bodies performing inspection. It defines the requirements for impartial, competent inspection of products, installations, processes and services, and for reports that buyers and regulators can rely on.

When operational, this programme will add independent inspection capability to the group: examinations of goods, equipment and facilities reported against defined criteria, alongside the certification and laboratory services the group already runs.

PRG-03IN DEVELOPMENT

ISO/IEC 17034

Reference material producers

ISO/IEC 17034 is the international standard for reference material producers: bodies that produce the characterised materials laboratories use to calibrate instruments, validate methods and control the quality of their measurements.

When operational, this programme will give laboratories a regional source of reference materials with stated property values, supporting the traceability their own accredited work depends on.
